KATHMANDU: The ANFA U-21 team faced a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Meghalaya in the Dr T Ao Northeast International NEC Gold Cup in Guwahati on Wednesday.
Robert Khong opened the scoring for home team in 15th minute before Rejin Subba netted the equaliser on a pass from Rajeev Lopchan in the 38th minute.
Meghalaya restored the lead in the 76th minute through Shaibor Nongrum and Figo Syndia made it 3-1 for the home team in the third minute of the injury time.
The Nepali side pulled one back in the dying moments when Prejan Tamang converted from the spot. On Thursday, the Nepali side will take on Tripura.
