Giggs has opted to throw David Brooks and Ethan Ampadu straight into the fray. And why not? Both are highly talented and Brooks has made an excellent start to life in the Premier League following his move from Sheffield United to Bournemouth. There’s also some lad called Gareth Bale in Wales’ starting lineup, a notable change to the last time these countries met. Meanwhile, Connor Roberts starts at right-back.
For Ireland, Callum Robinson makes a first competitive start. He’s an ex-England youth international so no doubt the Irish fans lambasting Declan Rice will have words with the Preston forward.
