KATHMANDU: Suresh Bhujel and Anisha Gurung won the first edition title of the Cross Duathlon Series here on Saturday.
Bhujel completed the course — 2.5km running, 10km cycling and 1.5km running from Ganeshthan to Chandeshwori in Tokha — in 35 minutes and 40 seconds to finish first in men’s section. Prem Singh Moya (37:08) and Aita Singh Tamang (37:13) came second and third respectively.
Likewise, Gurungwon the women’s section title with the timing of 43 minutes and 54 seconds, finishing ahead of Sudha Rai (48:43) and Yushka Maharjan (52:34).
According to Nepal Triathlon Association President Nilendra Raj Shrestha, a total of eight events will be held under the series — one each in every two weeks for the next four months.
The second event is scheduled for January 23 in Kirtipur.
Meanwhile, the NTA reached an agreement with Jump Nation to organise and manage the events of the association.
As per the one-year deal, Jump Nation will manage all the events of NTA including the Cross Dauthlon Series.
