KATHMANDU: A two-member Nepali boxing team on Sunday left for Hungary to participate in the AIBA Youth World Boxing Championship slated for August 22-31.
Boxer Kusum Tamang will fight in the women’s 57kg weight category, while Pushkar Raj Panta accompanied Tamang to Hungary as Team Manager.
The NSC Championship gold medallist, Tamang earned the chance to fight in the World Championship after she made it to the second round of the ASBC Youth Boxing Championship in Thailand four months ago, informed Shyam Awale, Member of Nepal Boxing Association.
Sports Development Department Chief at National Sports Council Kul Bahadur Thapa and NBA President Ram Awale bade farewell to the team.
