SINDHUPALCHOWK: Prince Dahal of Silk Group won the title of the third Sangachokgadhi Mayor Cup and first Top-21 Badminton Tournament on Friday.
Dahal defeated Tribhuvan Army Club’s Nabin Shrestha 21-14, 21-10 in the men’s singles final. Dahal received Rs 111,111 along with the trophy, while Shrestha bagged Rs 55,555.
TAC’s Ratnajit Tamang, who lost to Dahal in the semi-finals, and Rukesh Maharjan finished joint third and they earned Rs 10,000 each.
A total of 16 national players took part in the biggest tournament — sponsored by Sangachokgadhi Municipality — in terms of prize money.
