KATHMANDU: The newly appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Ltd, Ramesh Aryal has assumed office, today.
Aryal, under-secretary at the Ministry of Finance, replaced outgoing CEO Chandra Singh Saud whose appointment was rendered invalid following a decision of the Council of Ministers to revoke the political appointments made by the erstwhile government led by the Nepali Congress.
NEPSE suffers a fall
Meanwhile, the domestic share market suffered a fall today after index slipped by 18.33 points to close at 1,206 points.
Likewise, the stock exchange recorded a turnover of Rs 400.88 million where 1,065,486 units of share of 167 companies were traded.
Two sub-indices (trading; and manufacturing and production), however, turned green with an increase of 0.25 and 7.43 points while other trading groups including banking, hotel, development, hydropower, finance, insurance, others and microfinance saw a fall in their share values.
