KATHMANDU: Nepal national volleyball team defeated Afghanistan in straight sets to begin the first AVC Asian Central Zone Senior Women’s Volleyball Championship campaign with an easy win in Mirpur, Bangladesh on Sunday.
Nepal registered a 25-4, 25-9, 25-6 victory against Afghanistan at the Shaheed Suhrawardi Indoor Stadium. With the win, Nepal earned three points and are tied with home team Bangladesh in the fiveteam table.
Maldives have two points, while Kyrgyzstan have one. Afghanistan are yet to open their accounts.
Nepal will face Kyrgyzstan on Monday.
After the round robin league, top two teams will advance to final, while next two will play in third-place playoff match.
