Kathmandu, September 23

Bangladesh played a goalless draw against India and advanced to the semi-finals of the SAFF U-18 Championship here at the Nepal APF Club grounds today.

With the stalemate, Bangladesh accumulated four points from three matches and became the first team to make it to the last from Group B. Bangladesh had defeated Sri Lanka 3-0 in their first match on Saturday. India will play against Sri Lanka in the last league round match on Wednesday to decide the second team in the semi-finals and group winners as well.

In Group A, Bhutan stunned Nepal 3-0 yesterday to make it the semis with three points. Bhutan will take on Maldives in the last league match on Tuesday and the match will decide the fate of two-time defending champions Nepal. Both Nepal and Maldives have one point each after they played a 1-1 draw in the inaugural match on Friday.

Nepal can advance to the semis only if Bhutan beat Maldives with three or more goal-margin.
