SUNSARI: ANFA Academy of Dharan defeated Ambrea Academy of Morang 1-0 in the final of the first Province-wide U-14 Football Cup on Saturday.
Ayush Gurung scored the solitary goal of the match. The hosts ANFA Academy received Rs 50,000, while Ambrea Academy got Rs 25,000. Gurung was declared the best player, while Ambrea’s Sandesh Subba was named the man of the match and his teammate Komal Thapa won the best forward’s award. Gurung and Thapa shared the top scorer’s award after they were tied on five goals.
ANFA Academy players Yunish Budhathoki, Asim Jung Karki, Krishal Moktan and Suman Shrestha were adjudged the best defender, midfielder, goalkeeper and coach respectively.
A total of 10 teams took part in the event organised by ANFA Academy Management Committee.
