Nepal lose to Malaysian club

KATHMANDU: Nepal national football team faced a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Malaysian Super League champions, Johor Darul Ta’zim Football Club in the friendly match at the Pasar Gudang Stadium in Johar City on Monday.

 

Nocolas Alberto Fernandez scored the solitary goal of the match in the third minute after his free kick took a deflection to Nepali defender Devendra Tamang before entering the goal.

 

Nepal are scheduled to play against Kuwait on September 5 before facing Chinese Taipei five days later in their away matches.

Drawn in Group B, Nepal will also take on Jordon and Australia in the joint qualifiers of the two events.
