Kathmandu, June 25
Bahrabise Municipality and Biratnagar Municipality advanced to the final of the Deputy Mayor Cup Inter-municipality Women’s National Football Tournament here at the Nepal APF Club grounds today.
In the semi-final matches, Bahrabise defeated Waling Municipality, while Biratnagar beat Chaudandigadhi Municipality by identical 3-0 scores.
The final is slated for Wednesday.
In the first semi-final, Parbati Ghale scored a brace and Rajani Shrestha netted one goal for Bahrabise.
Shrestha opened the scoring in the 36th minute to go into the break with a 1-0 lead. Ghale then netted two goals to seal Biratnagar’s victory.
In another match, Jamuna Gurung, Sabitri Magar and Ema Rai scored one goal each for Biratnagar.
Former national team member Gurung opened the scoring for Biratnagar in the 31st minute, while Magar doubled the lead in the 51st minute. Ema Rai sealed the victory with the team’s third goal in the 65th minute.
