Times tighten grip

KATHMANDU: Times International Club defeated Royal Basketball Club 84-69 to strengthen their grip in the Kwiks Nepal Basketball League here on Saturday.

With their 11th consecutive victory and three rounds to go, Times lead the standing with 22 points. Tribhuvan Army Club, who have played 10 matches, are second with 19 points. Times opened up with 25-17 lead and never looked back.

They won 22-17 in the second quarter before both the teams netted 17 points each in the third period. Times then completed the victory with a 18- 16 lead in the final quarter. Praneet Udumalagala of Times was named the player of the match for his 16 points along with two assists and 11 rebounds.

In another match, Budanilkhantha Muncipality Basketball Club defeated Nepal Police Club 74-68. Saugat Deep Singh of Budanilkhantha top scored in the match with 13 points. With the win, Budanilkhantha moved to third with 18 points, one more than NPC.
