Kathmandu, May 25
Rabendra Raj Pandey won the second edition of the Surya Nepal Gokarna Monthly Medal here at the Gokarna Golf Club today.
Played under stroke play full handicap format, Pandey scored six-under 66 nett to win the trophy. Joseph Nathan came second on count back after he was tied on four-under 68 with Pradhumna Simkhada and Devendra Bajgai. With the back nine score of 31.5 nett, Nathan edged past Simkhada (32) and Bajgai (34.5).
Tashi Tshiring won the gross section award with the score of four-under 68, while Sadbhav Acharya was the winner in junior category with the score of two-over 74. A total of 36 golfers participated in the tournament sponsored by Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd. President of Gokarna Golf Club Suhrid Ghimire gave away the prizes to the winners.

After the second edition of the club championship, Rabendra Raj Pandey, Joseph Nathan and Vijay Shrestha Einhaus share the lead in nett section with 100 points each, while Pradhumna Simkhada is fourth with 70 and Dawa Sonam Sherpa is fifth with 60 points.
In gross section, Vijay Shrestha Einhaus leads is at the top with 160 points, while Tashi Tshiring is second with 140. Wangchen Dhondup is third at 95, followed by Pavitra Kumar Karki (40) and Sam Doublard (35). In junior category, Ang Phurba is leading with 140 points, while Mayank Dahal (120) and Sadbhav Acharya (100) are second and third respectively.
