Saraswoti Youth Club defeated fellow A division outfit Grand Master Jawalakhel Youth Club 1-0 and advanced to the final of the second Roj Bahini Chandragiri Gold Cup here at the Naikap grounds today.

Saraswoti took an early lead through an own goal from JYC defender Gautam Shrestha in the second minute and that was enough for them to make it to the final. JYC conceded an unnecessary goal when Shrestha passed the ball back to his goalkeeper Arun Tamang, who was not in his proper position and watched the ball roll into the goal.

JYC made a number of attempts to level the scores but they could not find the back of the nets. Oko Bota of Saraswoti was named the man of the match and he earned Rs 5,000.

On Friday, Nepal APF Club will play against Valley Chyasal Youth Club in the second semi-final match. The final is slated for Sunday.

A total of eight teams are taking part in the tournament organised by Deepshikha Youth Group under the sponsorship of Roj Bahini.

Top two teams will receive Rs 600,000 and Rs 300,000 respectively, while the best player of the tournament and the highest scorer will get Rs 30,000 each.
