KATHMANDU: NMB Bank has been awarded the ‘Best Issuing Bank Partner in Fragile Countries – 2017 – South Asia’ by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) during the Eighth IFC Trade Awards.
The award was presented by Vittorio Di Bello, regional head for Asia and Pacific at Financial Institutions Group, IFC to Sunil KC, CEO of NMB Bank, in recognition of the bank’s partnership in the global trade finance programme for the year 2017, as per a media release.
“NMB Bank sets precedence by becoming the first bank in the country to receive such award from IFC. The award reaffirms and echoes the trust and respect earned by the bank over the years from international partners,” as per a statement issued by the bank.
With this award from IFC, NMB Bank has been able to bag three different coveted international awards in 2017 — ‘The Bank of the Year 2017’ from the Financial Times, London and ‘Certificate of Merit’ from Frost and Sullivan.
