KATHMANDU: NCL Sports Pvt Ltd on Thursday announced the new venue and dates of the Women’s Twenty20 League Cricket Tournament.
As per the new schedule, the tournament will be held at the Tribhuvan University Stadium in Kathmandu from May 20-27.
The event was originally scheduled to be held at the Baijanath grounds in Biratnagar from April 18.
A total of four franchise-based city teams are taking part in the tournament and the teams have already bought 13 players each from the first-ever women’s cricket auction.
“We were forced to change the date as it clashed with the eight National Games,” said NCL Sports Chairman Jay Raj Roy in a release.
“And we shifted the tournament to Kathmandu as it is not possible to play matches in Biratnagar due to hot weather condition,” he added.
