Kathmandu, March 17

Sukra Bahadur Rai and Subash Tamang today left for Vietnam to participate in the 13th Faldo Series Asia Grand Final slated for March 20-22 at Laguna Lang Co in Danang.

Tamang and Rai had qualified for the finals as the winners of the Faldo Series Nepal Championship held at the Gokarna Golf Club earlier this year. Tamang was the overall winner and also claimed U-16 trophy, while Rai had won the U-21 section title.

President of Nepal Olympic Committee and Member of Parliament Jeevan Ram Shrestha bade farewell to the players.

Both the golfers are in good form as they have won professional event each in the Surya Nepal Golf Tour.

Rai had finished in top five in U-21 category in previous edition of Final, also held in Vietnam.

NOC President Shrestha urged the two golfers to put in their best performance to bring home the trophy from Vietnam. Nepal Golf Association President Tashi Ghale said the two players had good chance to win trophy in Vietnam.

“They have been performing well in domestic circuit since last six months and the NGA has kept them under closed camp to enhance their performance,” Ghale said.
