Lalitpur, March 5
Ranipokhari Corner Team (RCT) won the title of the Martyrs Memorial B Division League here at the ANFA Complex grounds today.
RCT defeated Shree Bhagwati Club 1-0 in the third and final match of the second round to finish at the top of the four-team table with maximum nine points. Lokendra Bahadur Karki scored the solitary goal of the match to give RCT their third consecutive victory. Karki headed home in the 23rd minute of the match following a corner kick from Unam Budhathoki.
Shree Bhagwati Club finished second with six points, while Tushal Youth Club were third after their 2-1 victory over Satdobato Youth Club. Champions RCT received Rs 800,000, while Shree Bhagwati bagged Rs 500,000. Tushal and Satdobato got Rs 300,000 and Rs 200,000 respectively.
Goalscorer of the final match Lokendra Bahadur Karki was named the best defender of the league, while Baiju Kapali of RCT got the best coach award. Birendra Limbu of Satdobato was declared the best forward, while Darshan Gurung of Shree Bhagwati was named the best midfielder. Binod Sodari of Tushal was adjudged the best goalkeeper. The five individuals received Rs 25,000 each. Shree Kumari Club got Rs 25,000 along with Fair Play award.
