KATHMANDU: Nuben Limbu and Shivali Gurung won the U-8 singles title of the first IME-JTI Grant Junior Open Lawn Tennis Tournament here at the Nauling Sports Villa on Monday.
Limbu defeated Ashab hada 10-7, 10-4 in boys’ final, while Gurung beat Samragi Lama 10-7, 11-9 in girls’ section final.
Likewise, Nishad Joshi won the boys’ U-9 singles title with a 1-4, 4-1, 10-8 victory over Boris Adhikari, while Saibi Dhakal and Samriddhi Maharjan made it to the girls’ category final.
Also, Saloni Tamang, Sarvani Shrestha, Ishashree Shah and Rayana Shah advanced to the girls’ U-14 semi-finals.
Sakshyam Bikram Shah, Ridhbhik Karki, Ayushman Ghale and Rajiv Pradhan made it to the girls’ U-10 semis, while Utsa Lama, Roshani Limbu, Marsa Maharjan, Shivangi Laxmi Shah, Sadashree Fhungana, Iva Adhikari, Aaja Regmi and Aisha Dolkar advanced to the girls’ U-12 singles quarter-finals.
