KATHMANDU: In a tense final of the Dhangadi Premier League, CYC Attariya secured victory over Mahendranagar United in the penultimate ball of the innings to lift the winners’ trophy at Fapla International Cricket Ground, Dhangadi on Saturday.
United who decided to take the bat first after winning the toss set a target of 124 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. In reply, Attariya chased the target in 19.5 overs with 3 wickets to spare.
Attariya’s middle order Batsman Sunny Patel shined as he struck unbeaten 47 runs, with six elegant boundaries equally divided, off only 26 balls leading his team to victory.
Moreover, Patel who was awarded player of the match also displayed his bowling prowess by sparing only 11 runs to United in his four-over spell with a wicket at an economy of 2.75.
