KATHMANDU: Nepal were drawn in Group A along with hosts Myanmar, India and Indonesia in the second round of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games Qualifiers.
The draw for the second round of qualifying was announced by the Asian Football Confederation on Wednesday. Nepal had made it to the Olympic Qualifiers second round in their first ever participation as the third best team in the first round.
Nepal were unbeaten in the tournament as they had played 1-1 draws against India, Myanmar and Bangladesh. In second round, Nepal will open the campaign with a match against Myanmar on April 1 before taking on India and Indonesia.
The 12 teams in second round of qualifiers have been divided into three pools and top side each from all groups will earn berths in third round.
Top two sides from the third round will join Japan, who have automatic qualifications as host country of the 2020 Olympic Games.
