Kathmandu, January 29
National table tennis champions Nabita Shrestha and Santoo Shrestha were announced as the brand ambassadors of Stag International, the leading manufacturer, exporter and supplier of sports accessories in India, for two years here at a programme today.
Nepal Table Tennis Association President Chatura Nanda Baidhya thanked Stag International for choosing table tennis players as its brand ambassadors. “I am happy that two of our players have become the brand ambassadors of Stag International,” said Baidhya.
The two players will get Rs 200,000 to Rs 300,000 each in cash and kinds per year. This is the first time any multinational company has signed Nepali table tennis players as the brand ambassadors. Nepal No 1 player Nabita Shrestha described the opportunity as pride. “It’s a matter of pride to become the brand ambassador of a popular company. It will definitely inspire other athletes to do well in the field,” she added.
Another player Santoo Shrestha was also happy to get the sponsors. “From now on, we will not have any problem in our kits while taking part in international tournaments,” he said.
