Nepal APF Club advanced to the quarter-finals of the 10th Ruslan Simara Gold Cup with a 1-0 victory over Bishal Memorial Foundation here at the Simara Stadium today.

Ashish Lama scored the solitary goal of the match. Lama found the back of the nets in the 36th minute and he also earned the man-of-the-match award along with Rs 10,000. APF will take on Tribhuvan Army Club in departmental derby on Sunday.

On Saturday, CMG Club Sankata will face Saraswoti Youth Club. A total of 10 teams are taking part in the tournament organised by Nava Janajagriti Youth Club. The hosts have advanced to the quarter-finals with a 3-0 victory over Makawanpur-XI on Thursday.
The winners of the tournament will receive Rs 600,000, while the runners-up will earn Rs 300,000.

Meanwhile, the organisers released the tournament souvenir today. Nava Janajagriti Youth Club President Kasim Miya and General Secretary Shambhu Thakuri among others unveiled the souvenir.
