Panchthar, January 11
Jhapa-XI advanced to the final of the 10th Ruslan Falgunanda Gold Cup final following their 1-0 victory over Saraswati Youth Club here at the Phidim grounds today.
Karna Limbu scored the solitary goal of the match in the second half. After a goalless first half, Limbu put Jhapa ahead in the 53rd minute. Dilen Loktam of Jhapa was named the man of the match and he earned Rs 10,000.
In Saturday’s second semi-final match, Tribhuvan Army Club will take on Royal Football Club of Darjeeling.
A total of 10 teams participated in the tournament organised by Phidim Sporting Club and Panchthar District Football Association in memory of National Hero Falgunanda Lingden. Top two teams will receive Rs 400,000 and Rs 200,000 respectively.
