Province 3 defeated Karnali Province by six wickets in the Group B match of the Manmohan Memorial One Day National Cricket Tournament here at the Inaruwa grounds today.
Batting first, Karnali were bowled out for 111 runs in 29.2 overs before Province3 reached the target losing four wickets in just 26.1 overs. The result, however, did not make any difference in the table as Tribhuvan Army Club have already made it to the semi-finals with 100 per cent winning record. Nepal Police Club are in the last four from Group A.
Aadil Khan top scored for Province3 with 26 runs, while Asutosh Ghiriya remained unbeaten on 20 and Ishan Pandey 20. Jitendra Singh Thakuri scored 16, while Sonu Tamang scored 14 not out. Diwan Pun, Yubaraj KC, Raj Shah and Rabindra Jung Shahi took one wicket each for Karnali.
Earlier, Province3 skipper Surya Tamang wrecked havoc in Karnali innings with a five-wicket haul. Tamang returned with the figures 5-22 from 9.2 overs and he also bagged the man-of-the-match award. Karnali skipper Rabindra Jung Shahi top scored with 39 runs, while Nischal Rawat contributed 22. Other batsmen failed to score in double figures.
On Friday, Nepal APF Club will take on Province 1.
