• PCA remains ‘open-minded’ despite lack of clarity over rules
The Professional Cricketers’ Association has warned The Hundred will not go ahead without the players on board as concerns over its quirky new format, the move away from Twenty20 and the impact on women’s cricket continue to rumble on.
Representatives from the players’ union met with the England and Wales Cricket Board at Edgbaston on Tuesday to discuss the new quickfire 100-ball format that will start in 2020 and see two-and-a-half hour matches played by eight new city teams at the height of summer.
