KATHMANDU: Biratnagar Warriors registered a three-wicket-victory over Lalitpur Patriots in the inaugural match of the Everest Premier League at Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground, Kirtipur.
Patriots decided to bat after winning the toss and made 104 runs at a loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Warriors scored 105 runs with three wickets to spare in 19.5 overs.
Karan KC capitalized on an exceptional batting and bowling spell with two wickets and made 36 runs (4, 6s-3) not out off 19 balls contributing to Warrior’s win.
Likewise, Right-arm off breaker GY Tomar took three wickets in his four-over-spell. Meanwhile, Patriots Skipper Gyanendra Malla came short of one run for a half century in 52 balls with Warrior’s KC sending him back to the stands.
In the next round of fixtures, Chitwan Tigers clash with Lalitpur Patriots on Sunday at 9:00 am while Bhairahawa Gladiators face off Pokhara Rhinos at 1:00 pm.
