Hari Thapa won the title of the Warsteiner Monsoon Eclectic Golf Tournament organised by the Royal Nepal Golf Club.
Thapa won the trophy with the net score of 42, while Lt Col Jhalendra Bhattarai came second with the score of 45. Hari Bahadur Shrestha was second runner-up with the score of 47.
A total of 20 players participated in the series that started on July 21. The RNGC members needed to drop at least eight cards of 18-hole rounds during the given period and the scores were calculated to decide the top three players, informed tournament committee head Kishan Agrawal.
Meanwhile, Swadesh Gurung won the title of the Warsteiner Monsoon Eclectic Closing Ceremony Golf Tournament today. Played under stroke play full handicap format, Gurung scored three-under 65 to claim the trophy. Maj Suman Limbu came second with the score of two-under 66.
Nabaraj B Thapa claimed the gross section trophy with the score of five-over 73, while Maj Gen Mahesh B Karki won the senior category title with the net score of even-par 68. SSP (retd) Rajendra Shrestha won the most birdies award with three birdies, while Sanyog Shahi and Pravakar Yakthumba bagged the longest drive and closest-to-the-pin awards respectively.
In all 53 golfers took part in the event sponsored by Warsteiner, the commercial product of Raj Brewery under the Jawalakhel Group of Industries. Director of JGI Group Shrihar SJB Rana and Vice-president of RNGC Tashi Ghale among others handed over the prizes to the winners.
