45k tuberculosis patients are added annually: National Tuberculosis Center

Today various tuberculosis programs are being organized on the occasion of Tuberculosis Day, including Nepal today the world slogans as “leadership for the world without Tuberculosis”.

According to the National Tuberculosis Center, approximately 45,000 patients of tuberculosis are added in Nepal every year. Now, about 32 thousand National Tuberculosis Center has been registered.

The age group of tuberculosis is the most productive age group i.e. 15 to 40 years. The only special facility in 45 districts till 2016 was organized by the Government and plan to take over 75 districts by 2021.

The government has provided free treatment for tuberculosis; by 2035 the government has planned to immune the disease.

About 75 percent of the tuberculosis in Nepal has lungs tuberculosis.
